Nick Waterhouse, descrito al principio de su carrera como un hombre joven que hace viejo rhythm'n'blues, se ha convertido en un icono de los activistas de sonidos anteriores al rock'n'roll, pero facturados, eso sí, desde el presente y con una energía y una prestancia actuales. Nacido en el sur californiano a finales de los 80, creció marcado por las preferencias clásicas de sus padres en cuanto a soul, blues y rock. Fue cultivando esa tendencia primero en sus años de instituto (cuando formó su primera banda, The Intelligista) y después cuando se trasladó a San Francisco y trabajó de dependiente en una tienda de discos vintage (una historia muy en la línea del libro “Alta fidelidad” de Nick Hornby).

Su último disco es el flamante "The Fooler" (2023), ha sido publicado el 1 de abril y es ya el sexto disco de estudio de su carrera.
